Every year Atanasije Stojkovic Fund gives scholarships for the best undegraduate students from universities founded by the Republic of Serbia. The Fund wishes for the scholarships to be an encouragement for further work and growth of diligent and talented students and to help them complete their studies within the envisaged time frame. Until 2007 the rule was to award 10 scholarships in five categories, for year 2008/2009 18 scholarships are awarded in six categories, and as of academic year 2009/2010 18 scholarships are awarded in the following 5 categories:

• THE SECOND YEAR OF STUDY – 5 scholarships;
• THE THIRD YEAR  OF STUDY – 6 scholarships;
• THE FOURTH YEAR OF STUDY – 3 scholarship;
• THE FIFTH (LAST) YEAR OF STUDY  – 3 scholarships.
• SCHOLARSHIP IN THE FIELD OF SPORT - 1 scholarship

The decision on awarding scholarships is made by the Administrative Board of the Fund in accordance with Article 2 of the Rules of the Fund for work with talented children, awarding scholarships and rewarding students and pupils from the territory of the City of Sremska Mitrovica, and based on the Call published in the local media every year upon the end of the October examination term (М newspapers and local television). The basic conditions for scholarship candidates are usually identical every year:

• they must be citizens of Serbia or have refugee status;
• they must have place of temporary or permanent residence in the territory of the City of Sremska MItrovica at least six months prior to applying;
• they must be under 25 years of age;
• they are starting any year of graduate studies, except first year, in the year for which the Call is open;
• they must have average of at least 9.00 - except for technical-technological studies (Group 4) and
• biotechnological sciences (Group 5) where the candidate can have the average lower than the one stated, that is, at least 8.50;
• they must have passed all exams from previous years by the closing of the Call;
• they must be ready to accept the obligation to take an appropriate job in the territory of the City of Sremska Mitrovica
• at least one year after graduation, that is, after master studies, if they start any.

• short resume;
• statement of enrolling in the appropriate year of undergraduate studies, accompanied by the statement of having passed all exams from previous years;
• statement issued by university as to the department, major subject, exams passed, average grade, and a complete list of exams envisaged by the programme of studies;
• citizenship certificate;
• photocopy of their ID, or document proving refugee status;
• statement of previous and current scholarships.

Monthly amount of the scholarship is 12,000.00 dinars, and it is awarded for a one-year period, starting from the payment for October every year.

Ranking and selection of candidates is carried out based on the success and efficiency of their studies, with consideration for equal presence of faculties within one field, as well as presence according to the field and year of studies. The Fund keeps the exclusive right to interpret classification of studies into certain categories.

Holders of the scholarship cannot hold scholarships by the Ministry for Science and Technological Development, Serbian Government Fund for Young Talents or the Republic Foundation for Development of Science and Art Youth at the same time.

Scholarships of the Atanasije Stojkovic Fund for 2008/2009, after two Calls, were awarded to 18 students of 36 who applied within the legal deadline. 33 students met the conditions given in the Call.
One scholarship was awarded for

• GROUP 1: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, mechanics, geo-sciences – 1 scholarship;
• GROUP 2: medicine, stomatology, pharmacy – 2 scholarships; 
• GROUP 3: history, archaeology, ethnology, history of art, economics, management, marketing,political sciences, sociology, pedagogy, demographical sciences, law, psychology, communication,literature, language – 9 scholarship; 
• GROUP 4: mechanical engineering, industrial software, IT, electronics, telecommunications,traffic, civil engineering, architecture, water management,materials and chemical technologies, energy technologies – 4 scholarships; 
• GROUP 5: biotechnics and biotechnology (agriculture) – no candidates; 
• GROUP 6: art (painting, applied art, music, drama) – 2 scholarships.
